Enter the bees, stage left. The Bees came during 2020 and the pandemic. I had been alone with my family for months and I have some friends who paint. We decided to gather in my garage and do a day-long painting sessions.As we were painting, I wasn't feeling any one particular energy, and then a bee came. Well, I should say, the bees came. There is no such thing as a lone Bee. Bees have such a powerful medicine around community, fertility, sweetness, stinging, shamanic initiation…the full gamut of experiences of life…Bees and their lore, particularly with healing, has been a long standing, beautiful part of many traditions. Bee came with one of my favorite poems/passages by Adrienne Rich from the poem Sources:"I refuse to become a seeker for cures. Everything that has ever helped me has come through what already lay stored in me. Old things, diffuse, unnamed, lie strong across my heart. This is from where my strength comes, even when I miss my strength, even when it turns on me like a violent master."
